519 CD (Cold Drawn) Seamless Tube is made from 1018 / 1026 steel. Compared to hot rolled steel products, the cold draw process A519 CD Tube undergoes results in uniform tolerances for the OD and ID, enhanced machinability and increased strength. A519 is a mechanical tube that is primarily selected when close tolerances, specific physical properties or a smooth finish are required.

HYT stocks A519 Hot Finish Seamless Mechanical Tube. The manufacturing process of A519 HFS tube results in thicker walls than provided by other tube manufacturing methods. A519 HF tube exhibits the high strength properties found in other tube carbon steels. A519 HFS tube does not meet the tight tolerances found with other tubes made by other methods such as cold drawn, however it is easy to machine A519 HFS to meet any requirements.
A519 HFS is made from 1020/1026 carbon steel. Compared to cold drawn seamless tube, A519 HFS can provide a cost effective solution. It is an ideal choice for applications where precise finish dimensions and surface quality are of secondary importance. Hot Finished Seamless mechanical tubing is manufactured to OD and wall dimensions.
Properties
General Characteristics of A519 HFS Include:
Typical Uses
HFS tubes are for high pressure and heavy duty applications that require strength. They are used in a broad range of applications, including :
HYT stocks A519 4140 Alloy Round Tubing. This is a hot finished seamless (HFS) tube that is a lower-cost alternative to cold drawn seamless (CDS) tube. A519 4140 Alloy is a good material for applications that do not require the close dimensional tolerances and/or the high quality of surface finish that CDS tube provides. If tight tolerances are required, A519 4140 can be machined to exact specifications. In general, HFS is used for products that require a thicker wall and a high strength material such as hydraulic cylinders, rollers and sleeves. HFS tubing is manufactured to outside diameter (OD) and wall thickness (WT) dimensions.

Q: What is 4130 pipe?
A: 4130 pipe refers to a type of seamless steel pipe made from 4130 steel, which is an alloy steel known for its high strength and toughness. The numbers "4130" indicate the specific composition of the alloy in terms of its chromium and molybdenum content, which are key for enhancing its mechanical properties.
Properties and Uses of 4130 Pipe:
Applications:
4130 pipes are used in various industrial and aerospace applications, including:
The versatility and robustness of 4130 pipes make them a preferred choice in environments where strength and resistance to wear are essential.
Q: Is 4130 the same as chromoly?
A: Yes, 4130 steel is often referred to as "chromoly" steel, a term derived from the two main alloying elements in the steel: chromium (Cr) and molybdenum (Mo). These elements provide the steel with increased strength, toughness, and hardenability, making 4130 chromoly a popular choice for applications requiring both strength and ductility, such as in bicycle frames and automotive parts.
Q: What is 4130 steel equivalent to?
A: 4130 steel, known for its strength and versatility, is often compared to several other steel grades based on its composition and properties. In the European standard, 4130 steel is equivalent to 25CrMo4 according to EN standards. In terms of Japanese standards, it aligns with SCM430.
Here’s a quick breakdown:
These equivalents are based on the alloy composition, especially the chromium and molybdenum content, which gives 4130 steel its characteristic toughness and hardening ability. This makes it popular in automotive, aerospace, and other high-stress applications.

HYT specializes in two primary steel pipe manufacturing techniques: seamless and welded. Each method offers unique manufacturing processes and applications, ensuring we can meet the diverse needs of various industries.
Seamless Steel Pipes
Seamless steel pipes are manufactured through processes such as hot rolling, cold rolling, or cold drawing. These methods start with a solid steel billet, heated and formed under high temperature and pressure to create a tube without any welded seams. The main advantages of seamless pipes lie in their uniformity and strength, making them ideal for high-pressure, high-temperature environments, or other demanding conditions. Due to their seamless nature, these pipes exhibit higher integrity and resistance to cracking under internal and external pressures.
Welded Steel Pipes
In contrast to seamless pipes, welded steel pipes are produced through methods like Electric Resistance Welding (ERW), Submerged Arc Welding (SSAW), or Longitudinal Submerged Arc Welding (LSAW). These processes involve curling steel sheets or coils into a tubular shape and welding them at the seam. The advantages of welded pipes include cost-effectiveness and the ability to manufacture large diameters and thick-walled pipes, crucial for many structural and transportation applications.
